TEAM ROSTER:
How many on your Team? Team's occupations? How often? Teaming Up location?

My cooking group of 5 ladies gathered once a month (which often turned out to be once every 6 weeks, after coordinating with various schedules). We cooked at my apartment which happened to be outfitted with an large kitchen, where I could set up a long folding table against one wall for added surface area.

Cook #1 (Me-Team Captian): Healthcare consultant working out of town 4 days a week/wife
Cook #2: Seminary secretary/wife
Cook #3: Housewife
Cook #4: School Teacher/grad student
Cook #5: School Teacher/wife

TEAM CAPTAIN:

Recipe selection, shopping, figuring finances...who does it? What is usually on the menu?
Most of the ladies I cooked with were wives of graduate students or women with limited freezer space (all of us cooking for 1 or 2). I selected menus that consisted mostly of meat marinades (easy to freeze flat in freezer bags) by sifting through my cookbooks and locating recipes I could tell would freeze well. We also tried soup, mashed potatoes, and scones, all of which worked well.

I also did the shopping and finances for the team.
As compensation for organizing team cook day, the other cooks paid for my ingredients (except the meat). To determine how much each cook would pay for their meals, I totaled up the receipts from my shopping day, and divided the dollar amount by the number of meals that we were cooking (less my meals). This usually resulted in a cost of between $.75-$1.50/meal (serving size: 2).

WINNING SCORE:
Teaming Up benefits you relish? Have freezer meals helped your family life?
I was working out of town Mondays - Thursdays, so I was able to quickly cook enough freezer meals for my husband on the weekend to heat/eat while I was out of town. I enjoyed being able to still provide him with tasty, homemade meals even while away. My weekends were always very busy, so it was very helpful to cut out the prep time from our dinners.
